would give zero stars if I could. This show while educational in some aspects is honestly horrible. They claim to "care" about the animals but allow them to suffer tremendously before intervening and most of the time it's late. Many of the deaths could have been prevented if they truly cared. They claim to allow the animals to be more natural like they would in the wild but then have 5 tigers in the same area when tigers are naturally solidarity animals. The mother tiger spends around 2 years with her young before they go off on their own. Yet they kept the daughter and mother together after taking her partner and sons away and she became depressed. Of course she did. They allowed a male Tapir in with the female and her baby which is not what happens in the wild and the male attacked the mom and tried to with the baby. They claim to want to save endangered animals but allow them to die because they don't want to interfere with nature. Allowed 2 Asian young elephants to die of the elephant herpes virus without attempting to help. There is a way to treat it and the elephant survive if caught early enough but they just said screw it basically. After one died didn't test the other one or do any preventive measures at all. Watching the one elephant try to get the other one up when it died was horrible. They house 2/3 species together in smaller enclosures than they would in the wild and expect it to be good. Well then why did 5 otter pups die? Oh yeah..they had them in with a type of pig. This zoo needs shut down and the animals need rescuing. Watched the other zoo shows and the others treat their animals like gods and truly care about them. The first sign of something being wrong they are on it. They have them do things to help keep them healthy. Chester zoo is a disgrace and I am upset that Animal planet allowed this show to be shown given the cruelty and abuse and neglect on this.
