Repetitive, mawkish writing with two dimensional characters. It seemed the author was checking off plot points to just finish the book. Formulaic and predictable, it came across as more of an attempt to get a limited series television show on Netflix than an actual novel.

Tried to like this show. Has a great pedigree and the cast is talented. But it's just not good. Jokes are stale, live audience sounds suspiciously like a laugh track. Seems like It should be on CBS it's that predictable.
