A brilliant horror thriller film in tamil cinema.It is a technically sound film. Editing, sound mixing and other technical aspects are great in this film, especially, it's Cinematography (hats off to the cinematographer) and set production which defines an unique tone to this film. Casting is so apt in this film, thus the performances of actors are also quite realistic (Especially the performances of Vinod Kishan and Kumar Natarajan were top notch). The non-linearity of it's screenplay, which made it's plot unpredictable. If you're question is that is it a watchable film? Then yes, of course it a must watch film..

One of the masterpiece of kamal hassan sir, the legend. Even today the good movies like VIKRAM VEDHA,KAITHI have the touch of this film.The rerecording is awesome, especially the bgm of Nasser. The shootout scenes were shooted very naturally, as it is used to be in a Scorsese's films, though it was released in the year 1995.The character sketch of Adi,Abbas,Srinivas even Narasimman, Krishnan, Badri all are shown just as the outcomes of our society, just taking their sides.The key theme of this film is "TERRORISTS ARE THE OUTCOMES OF DIRTY POLITICIANS AND THEIR POLITICS, BUT BASICALLY THEY ARE HUMAN, AND THEY TOO HAVE EMOTIONS OF FEAR AND SENTIMENTS, AS WE HAVE AND GUNS CAN'T BRING REVOLUTION BUT ONLY BLOODSHED".

One of the best non- linear screenplay ever written, and the "Rashoman Effect" was used as the medium of narration, brilliantly.Above all, though this screenplay travels in a clear cut path, this film touches many subjects like castism, agriculture,crimes inside central jail, the other perspective of capital punishment,etc.. Also, behind everything this film also displays many metaphorical and ironical portrayals of the original folklore of guardian angel virumandi, which runs in the film itself in background ( karumathur kaatukulle song). Excellent job done by isaignyani, fantastic background scores, intense performance of actors, which made this film, a Magnum Opus in non-linear genre.The man who made this film is more than a genius, so please try to understand his creations. Without making an attempt to understand his films, please never ever mock him🙏🙏.
