Good pilot, bad show.
There is little to no character development on the male or female side of the spectrum. One thing I can give the show credit for is its diverse cast of characters and not using the "hey, rape is constantly a threat" trope. It was enjoyable to finally watch a show without having to look up trigger warning for my girlfriend.
The beginning few episodes are ripe with suspense and flashy visuals, but the show quickly devolves into "Nimue running away from red paladins. Everyone running away from red paladins."
Epiaode 7 truly is where both me and my girlfriend decided to stop watching, with a few of the characters closed up in a windmill, with bows and arrows surrounded by, you guessed it, red paladins.
One of the characters tries to shoot the gray monk but he deflects it with a sword, pretty cool.
But then litterally nobody shot him again. He begins torturing somebody on the outside and one of the characters shoots and kills THE GUY BEING TORTURED while the monk HAS HIS BACK TURNED. the plot armor in this show is ridiculous.
Many people complain about female empowerment and a diverse cast, I don't have any problem with that whatsoever and it was done in an okay manner, the problem is poor writing, and a sloppy storyline.
The entire show is basically "watch Nimue run from red paladins, occasionally get deus ex machined by a man, who she then hates"
Also the romance in this was so?????? Like Arthur steals her sword, she almost stabs him in the gut for it, then a few episodes later they are naked and making out together like???? There's little to no character development outside the first few episodes. Maybe watch the pilot if your so inclined, but stop there.
